Abu walks slowly between them.

He looks at all three.

Noor looks at Moon.

Moon shrugs slightly.

He holds it up.

No one speaks.

“French?” he asks quietly.

Abu looks at him.

Moon nods slowly.

He looks back at them.

“Kreyòl se lang Ayiti.”

(kray-ol seh lahng ah-ee-tee)

(Kreyòl is the language of Haiti)

They listen.

No one repeats.

Abu tosses the ball lightly.

“Gade boul la.” (gah-deh bool lah)

Moon reacts.

He tracks it.

He catches it.

Noor steps forward.
